Q: We’re welding stainless pipe and getting sugaring on the inside diameter. We are tigging the root, and like everyone else, we’re using argon for the shielding gas. It is an open root, so no backing ring is involved. We’re purging the inside diameter with argon, but we are still seeing sugaring there.
