  • How long do I have to complete the course and what do I earn?
    Participants receive 30 days of access from the date of registration, with additional time to complete the final exam. Those who score 75% or higher earn an AWS Certificate of Completion and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) applicable toward AWS certification and recertification requirements.
  • Do I need prior metallurgy knowledge to take this course?
    A basic understanding of steel metallurgy is helpful before enrolling. Completing the AWS Principles of Metallurgy or Metallurgy I courses first is recommended to ensure you have the foundational knowledge of microstructure, heat treatment, and mechanical properties that this course builds upon.
  • Can the PDHs earned count toward CWI recertification?
    Yes. PDHs earned through AWS self-paced online courses can be applied toward AWS recertification requirements provided they are earned during the active certification period. The total PDHs available will depend on the specific course content — check the course page for the exact amount awarded upon completion.
