Q: I would like to better understand the different aluminum alloy types. What are the most common alloys and for what are they typically used?  

A: We will consider wrought aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys. These alloys are identified with a four-digit number. This number is assigned as a registration number by the Aluminum Association.
