Developing Pre-Qualified WPS Workshop
Using AWS D1.1 & B2.1
Jump to:
This in-depth workshop guides participants through the proper use of AWS D1.1:2025, Structural Welding Code–Steel and AWS B2.1/B2.1M:2021, Specification for Welding Procedure and Performance Qualification. Attendees will learn how to tab, highlight, and annotate key sections of both codes to improve navigation and understanding.
Participants will apply these codes to develop both Prequalified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and WPSs requiring qualification by testing. The course includes hands-on exercises in destructive and nondestructive evaluation of Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), the development of welding parameters, and the welding of test coupons. Attendees will complete WPS forms, PQRs, and Welder Qualification documentation using both standards.
Each attendee will receive a hard copy of the latest editions of both codes.Workshop Details
